So...

...has anyone successfully made a custom theme yet?

Is everyone waiting for 3.1's skinning improvements before this happens?

I do think many of us are just in a holding pattern, circling overhead, waiting for 3.1 to hit and see the changes it hath wrought.

Personally, I don't see any reason to wait.

Nothing in 3.1 subtracts or alters the theme elements that are already there -- it only adds a bunch of new theming opportunities. And by a "bunch," I mean more than sixty (60) new elements. That brings the total number of theme elements to over three hundred and seventy (370). That's a lot of work if you intend to replace everything that you can.

So, as I said, waiting might only make the task that much more daunting (and I know from daunting...).

On my PC, for some reason, the text colour and background colour for the File boxes are the same, so I use the themes to set up different and contrasting colours. I also have a new Icon for LogOn and a replacment picture for the initial screen. This shows what game I'm connected to/version. Not really needed but the dice pic gets boring after a bit.

Despite the fact that it's more efficent to pack the new graphics in a jar I find it more flexible to keep them as separate files, I don't notice thigs being that much slower...?

Most of the default themes are fine by me so its nothing fancy!

I gather that the answer to this is "No."

Anyone know where I can find the specs for themes? I am hoping to do up a post apocalyptic/sci-fi theme.

Thanks,

If you are on a PC, check the lib directory in Contents for a subdirectory called Themes. Theme.xml is in there and seems pretty simple to manipulate.

On a Mac, right click the KloogeWerks program icon and select Show Package Contents, then navigate to Contents\Resources\Themes
