kLoOge.Wear Horn Wearing Instructions and Tips

Horns may be worn directly on your person, or may be attached to clothing, headwear, or other inanimate objects.  On non-living materials, sewing or permanent gluing are great options.  For pets, kLoOge.Wear recommends using the cord method only.  On humans, you may choose to attach your horns by the leathern cord they come with, or you may wish to glue them in place with spirit gum.

Using the Leathern Cord

Your kLoOge.Wear horns come pre-threaded.  However, they may be re-threaded to change the orientation of the horns if you wish.  You may need to use a pin or tweezers to loosen the knots.
Once your horns are threaded in the position you prefer, put them on your head and hold the cords tightly in the back.
Once you find the position and degree of snugness you prefer, remove the horns while still pinching the cord.
Tie a sturdy knot at the place you are pinching the cords.
You are now ready to wear your horns!  (You may adjust the knot if necessary.)  The next section is about “Concealing the Cord”.

Concealing the Cord

Put your adjusted, knotted horns on your head in the desired position.
For short hair, simply use a comb to part the hair at the cord.  Use the comb to pull hair out from under the edge of the cord.  This should hide the cords.  Style the hair as usual to optimize the invisible look!
For longer hair:  Part your hair along the cord pulling hair out from under the cord.  Comb the front portion forward over your forehead.  The back portion can be separated from the cord as in short hair.  The front of your hair can now be flipped back over the cord and styled as usual.

Using Spirit Gum Adhesive

KLoOge.Wear sells spirit gum adhesive (w/applicator) and remover in convenient .25 oz. bottles.   Kits of both adhesive and remover in a drawstring satchel are also available.

Remove the cord from your horns.  Take the time to untie them, in case you want to use the leathern cord at a later time.

Experiment with placement until you find what suits you.  Horns do not glue to scalp hair.  They don’t stick very well to body hair, either.  Pick as hairless a spot as possible.

Before applying your horns, prepare your skin.  A swipe of astringent will reduce surface oils and give you better adherence.  Following that with a light dab of antiperspirant may help reduce sweating which can undo the glue.
Using the applicator brush spread a thin layer of spirit gum on the bottom of the horns and to the place you’re going to stick them.
Allow the glue to “set” until nearly dry.  It will be tacky, but not wet.
Apply the horns and hold in place for a few moments.
To remove the horns, use adhesive remover at the base of the horns.  Wait a moment for the remover to dissolve the bond.  Once the horns are off, be sure to use more remover on your skin under the horns, and on the horns themselves.  They’ll stick better next time if they are clean!

Care of Your Horns

Be sure to thoroughly remove old adhesive from your horns after wearing.
When completely dry, store in a cool, dry place.
